questions I ask my clients

These are some of the key questions I ask clients before we start working. Asking the right questions is a key part in immersing yourself into the brand. You want to come out dripping with knowledge of the brand, the owner, the audience, the competitors and the industry.

“What are your pain points in your business?”
“What are your clients pain points?”
“How do you sympathize with your clients?”
“How do you want your business to be perceived?”
“How do you want to make people feel?”
“Why did you get into this business?”
“What draws people into your business?/What is your sauce?”
“Describe your ideal client in as much detail as possible.”

The most thought provoking questions provide the most insight on how to support the client and deliver the best assets.

When creating your own questions, don’t be afraid to get as random as you want with your questions! Some people are not great at explaining their style and can find it overwhelming to buckle down and figure it out. I often hear words like “simple”, “boho”, “clean”, etc to explain the direction they want to go in. They are all good starting points but they don’t get to the nitty gritty details. I had someone ask me once “If you could choose any place in the world to describe you/your style, where would it be?” AND MISS GIRL, it was a game changer for me. At first, I was like DAMN never thought about that before and second, I realized it gives someone the opportunity to give an easy one word answer and from that, you can take inspo from that place.

Bottom line, get creative with your questions and don’t be afraid to ask too many. If a client want to work with you, they will be invested in the process.
