Fear keeps me in the biggest chokehold of life. It is the one and only thing keeping me and most people from accomplishing anything.

We live in a world where we can become a self taught anything because GOOGLE BITCH. There is an endless supply of free resources that can help you get started and excel. Despite this, the crippling anxiety that comes with putting yourself out there can keep you from even starting.

The time between when I thought about starting to work on social media and the actual start was about 9 months. It took me that long to work up the courage to simply just start. Once I started, I got SUPER scrappy and made many mistakes because I had no idea what I was doing. The lack of knowledge made it difficult to show up for fear of judgment. But I knew that I wanted to work for myself. I put myself out there and as they say, I FAKED IT UNTIL I MADE IT! Literally though, I would post and then cry about it-dramatic much. Every interaction/move was a learning curve and helped shaped me into the person that I am today. I initially started as a social media manager but quickly fell into brand and web design. You’ve probably heard me say it before but I truly believe; everything happens for a reason. You can never predict the future and almost every time you reflect on your life, you can find a good reason for why something happened. Things are either a blessing or a lesson. Go ahead and try it! Think of a “bad” time or situation and think of how it has positively impacted you. Did it open a door for another opportunity? Did it allow you to have more sympathy and in turn help a friend? Has it prepared you for an even harder time that you were able to successfully handle? PLEASE share stories with me! They make me feel fuzzy!!

Social media is scary! We connect with family, friends and randoms at our fingertips. BUT, those that truly love and support you will not judge you. If you’re scared that people will ask about your new adventure, remember that you don’t have to explain or know every detail. If you’re worried about what to say if people ask, here are some ideas:

"I want more money"
"Idk follow along to find out"
"I’m bored"
"I want to find a new hobby"
"I want to find happiness"

The reason does not matter because its your life and you can do whatever the F you want! Life is not that serious and I would hate to see a fellow baddie stress over the fear judgment. Just get in the driver’s seat of your life and just simply be. Whatever happens, happens. You have complete control.
